Rachael Taylor

Rachael Taylor is such an inspiration to me!  Her designs are fab, colorful and quirky.  Rachael's designs start from continuous and left hand which brings the quirkiness into her designs.  Rachael has won numerous awards and competitions.  She has become well known within the textile industry especially with achieving so much in such a short space of time at a very young age.  Browsing through her designs on her website and interesting posts on her blog really motivates me.  Below are some of Rachael's inspirational work...

She has an e-course starting on Nov 14th 2011 called 'The art and business of art and design' which she is doing with Beth Nicholls.  I won't be starting until the 2nd module starts which is 16th Jan 2012.

You are an inspiration

I was just researching motivation tips and found several quotes in a website called growthink. Below is a particular one I quite liked, once I had read the quote I realised underneath who had actually quoted it.  RIP Steve Jobs.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

-Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple and Pixar

Designers Guild

I'm lovin' Designers Guild's brand new collection 'Amrapali.'  The Royal blue within the colour palette is beautiful.  Florals and stripes are a true classic.

A Selection of Magazines I have brought for Inspiration...

Not enough designing!

I have been very busy with searching for work placements, filling in applications and emailing this week as well as working a lot of overtime.  Which has made it very difficult for me to find time for designing and scrap booking.  But I'm hoping when I find some inspiration I will get started with tonnes of ideas :)  I think a vasrious of magazines may help me.  I'm always looking online at different designers for inspiration which helps as it shows that I can do it too!
