Mince Pies

This afternoon I have been busy making mince pies from scratch.  It was the first time I had ever made them and feel that the outcome was successful.

Here are the ingredients: Flora, plain flour, icing sugar, fry light and mince meat.
I mixed 297g of plain flour with 113g of flora. Also a pinch of salt and a table spoon of sweetener.  I then added some water for the mixture to add together.
Spray fry light into the cake baked try. Then using shape cutters to form the base of the pies.
I then added the mince meat inside the pies.
Next using Christmas shape cutters I formed the top of the pies.
Now the mince pies are ready to be cooked in the oven for 15 minutes.
Once cooked and cooled down, sprinkle some icing sugar on the top for a more Christmas feeling.
Enjoy!

Saatchi Gallery

From my previous post I spoke about visiting Saatchi Gallery during my London trip.  I had never been to this gallery before and was rather looking forward to it.  The current exhibition is called 'Gesamtkunstwerk: New art from Germany' which I found rather interesting.  There was some really great art and then some I felt I didn't understand or saw the point in them, but that's fine art for you.  Sometimes there isn't a reason behind the work of art.  Here are some photographs I took during my time there:

Landen Town

I had a trip to London on Monday, which was the first time on my own.  I quite enjoyed my trip but it's not the same on your own especially as London is quite a lonely place already.  I arrived in London St Pancreas railway station.  As I was walking towards the underground I passed a Christmas tree made from Lego.

I visited quite a few places including Saatchi Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum as well as a browse round Cass Art, Paperchase and Libertys.

In the main entrance of the V&A was this beautiful glass chandelier.  There is an article here on how they have to clean the chandelier.  It must take some cleaning! Below are some photographs I took of the chandelier.

Currently the V&A has a 'Power of Making Exhibition', which was the main reason for me to visit London.  There were so many different crafts, machines and art within the exhibition, which was very interesting.  Although I wasn't allowed to take photographs, they did have a book which had extended information on the the crafts at the exhibition that you could buy in the shop.  There are some photographs of the crafts on the website.

Paperchase!

I'm a huge fan of Paperchase and always have to take a browse around whenever I see one!  I went in my local Paperchase yesterday and found many different inspirational designs around the whole store.  Although I fell in love with this collection called memoirs.  So many butterflies in beautiful colours layered on a vintage ground.  Here are some photographs of the collection I found on the Paperchase website. Enjoy :)

Shooting Stars

Today I started on a simple task to get me motivated.  Although it did take me much longer than I expected.  But I am very pleased with the results!
