Kedleston Hall

Kedleston Hall is a new favorite National Trust building of mine.  The 1760s beautifully architectural building belongs to the Curzon family who had lived there since the 12th Century and still do.  The engaging hall has many sophisticated objects that have been collected over the years.  And the stunning, excessive and extravagant interiors brings so much character to every rooms within the hall.  This hall is a must see and very inspirational.

Chesterfield Flea Market

On the very first day of my travels I visited Chesterfield, I hadn't been before except through by train.  We first had a wonder round the flea market which I found very interesting, they were selling anything and everything.  I was on the look out for interesting books and thimbles.  After some time I found some thimbles with a wooden thimble case and brought it for a bargain of just £3!\

Madeleine Floyd

It's Follow Friday!

On my travels I wondered around several vintage, unique and gift shops.  I came across artist Madeleine Floyd several times, she has a contemporary gift card collection which I adore.  The card designs are based on wild birds which are originally painted with watercolours.

Madeleine is one of Britain's favorite artist and is a very busy bee in her own studio in London, she paints, draws, writes and illustrates.  Madeleine is very lucky to have her work commissioned in many parts of the World and has recently expanded selling her designed products with 'The National Trust.'  She has also had many successful exhibitions along the way.

Madeleine has many clients including Toyota, Harvey Nichols, Sainsburys, RSPCA, Channel 4, Orion Publishing, The Sunday Times, Vogue and many more.

Madeleine has her designs on many products including Mugs,  books, stationery, bags, kitchen accessories, place mats, coasters, fine bone china, greeting cards and fine art prints.  You can buy any of these products from her online shop.

A walk round Youlgreave

On the Sunday afternoon we decided to take a walk especially as the warm sunshine was out, so we thought we'd make the most of it.  We walked though parts of Youlgreave along the river and of course I took my camera with me and took many photographs along the way.

Fabric & Furnishing Solutions

We visited a town called Bakewell, Derbyshire.  Bakewell is a lovely, small town with many different vintage, gift and antique shops.  As well as loads of cafés, restaurants and tea shops.  Whilst browsing around I came across an interior shop called 'Fabric & Furnishing Solutions.'  Inside the shop were many different design collections which were beautifully presented with fabrics, cushions, curtains, chairs, tables, you name it, everything.  I had to take some photographs as I felt they were such an inspiration and I hope they are to you too.

If you ever visit Bakewell, why not take a visit in this shop:
