Liberty Art Fabrics

This fabulous new fabric collection from Liberty is suitable for all sewing projects.  There is a diverse range of colour palettes and motifs within the collection including florals, gemoetrics and paisleys.  Although the few design I have picked that I quite like are all florals.  Each design is unique with different floral motifs, sizes and pattern placement.

Moschino Cheap and Chic

Moschino Cheap and Chic fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection was designed to bring back live's adventures through clothing.

"It means mash up your clothes to find your style," said designer Francesca Rubino. "And find the life you like. Times are hard, so we have to use clothes to have some fun."

*Quoted from website.

This look is very fifties, bringing candy colours, patchwork lace and scattered make-up pots.  Personally I think the surface pattern of the make-up pots will become very commercial over the F/W period.  What do you think of this collection?

I adore this new surface pattern design range from Paperchase called 'Paradisco' featuring birds and florals combined.  The design comes in a range of colours particularly the birds, although the florals are black and white.  Of course this pattern design comes on a range of products.  I quite like the diary/organizer surface design in the last image especially as there are several layers including a simple leaves background.

Zandra Rhodes

It's Follow Friday!

Zandra Rhodes, a British Textile Designer was introduced to the fashion world by her mother.  She studied at Medway College and then The Royal College of Art, London.  Zandra opened her first shop in 1967, then in 1969 she set up on her own and took her collection to New York City.  She was then featured in the American version of Vogue and has grown successfully ever since.  Zandra Rhodes' collections are as outrageous, unique and extravagant as her own lifestyle, she has bright pink hair, wear theatrical make-up and art jewelery; which stamped her own identity in the fashion world.

'She was one of the new wave of British designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970's. Her unique use of bold prints, fiercely feminine patterns and theatrical use of colour has given her garments a timeless quality that makes them unmistakably a Rhodes creation. In 1977 she pioneered a pink and black jersey collection with holes and beaded safety pins that earned her the name of "princess of punk".'

*Quoted from the Zandra Rhodes website.

Zandra has had many clients over the years including Diana, Princess of Wales, Freddie Mercury (music rock group Queen), Kylie Minogue, Paris Hilton and many more.  Her dresses are worn by many celebrities across the globe including Sarah-Jessica Parker, Kelly Osbourne, Kate Moss and many more.

Since 2003, Zandra has also been dedicated to 'The Fashion and Textile Museum' in London bringing exhibitions of fashion since the 1950's.  She has won so many different awards over the years and will win many more to come.  She is presented in many museums and had many exhibitions all over the World.  She has also done several lectures and television appearances.

Free People

I recently discovered this online clothing store, based in USA called 'Free People.' The company only sells ladies clothing which includes dresses, accessories, shoes, vintage and more.  They focus on the trends rather well and have a selection called Trending on the left hand side of the webpage, this will then show you different trends in group so you can focus buying products for a particular trend.  There is such a wide selection to choose from and the prices vary depending on the garments, design and quality of the materials.  Below is a selection of new products that have recently come in store.
